Catalina Lopez (she/her)
LSWAIC #SC6152496
BSW, MSW
As a queer, multicultural Latina, my life has been shaped by the experience of living ‘in between'. My formative years were spent in rural northern California where I first began my work with grassroots movements and community agencies. My known ancestors are of the Rarámuri people indigenous to Northern Mexico as well as the Norse, Germanic, and Spanish peoples.
I hold a deep, personal value of working to actively dismantle oppressive dynamics within systems of power. This manifests in therapy through honoring each client’s lived experience, challenging harmful narratives, and providing culturally relevant services.
I recognize the privilege I carry as a person with a white passing body and am committed to a lifetime of healing in my body what my ancestors did not heal in theirs.
I have worked deeply with underserved communities across the Pacific Northwest and California, including survivors of abuse, individuals experiencing homelessness, survivors of natural disasters, the LGTBQ community, people with racialized identities, and other communities impacted by systemic oppression.
In my moments of radical joy, I'm often spending time caring for my plants, playing board games with friends, watercolor painting, or watching Star Trek re-runs with my wife on a quiet night.
